Summary: The Residential Housing Complex Coordinator will assist the Director of Student Engagement and Residence Life with the coordination and supervision of MCC’s Residential Housing, working to maintain a safe, educational living environment.
Job Duties:
- Oversee daily operations of assigned residential complex, including but not limited maintenance of facility and equipment repair, monitoring of safety and security, which includes posting of office hours.
- Along with the RA staff, the Complex Coordinator helps mediate conflicts within the residential facilities and helps identify solutions. Serves on judicial hearing board for housing violations.
- Attends One on one meetings with Director of Student Engagement and Residence Life, Campus Housing Meetings, RA Meetings and Hall meetings, as well as serving on assigned committees.
- Works with Director of Student Engagement, Resident Assistant staff and the Student Activities Council in the development and implementation of student engagement activities.
- Plans, prepares and oversees, move-in, move-out and break closures of students housing for assigned complex, as well as assisting with other complexes. Which includes housing assignments, room inventory, and overseeing cleaning shutdown cleaning progress, mailings, room inventory and student housing record maintenance.
- Assist with the management of the East Hall Office/Mail Room and student staff. Assists with New Student Orientation when scheduled during contracted work period. Assist with transporting students to and from off campus activities. Helps oversee Faust Student Union during on-call rotation evenings.
Education and Experience: Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three years appropriate experience in higher education preferred. Experience in supervising college students/young adults and experience with student housing preferred.
Abilities:
- Requires independent decision making, ability to exercise good judgment, and use of critical thinking skills.
- May work in an environment of shifting priorities; frequent interruptions; hectic pace; and interaction with students, staff and/or the public.
- Working knowledge of computer software programs, which may include Word, Excel, institutional mainframe computer system software, or similar programs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including proficiency in business English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to handle highly confidential matters and materials with discretion.
- Ability to work independently as well as be a collaborative team player in completing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
