The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with the coordination of all phases of a competitive NJCAA Division I athletic program. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some coaching experience in the following areas: Coaching, recruiting, budget management, travel management, rules and eligibility compliance, administrative duties, departmental fundraising, camps, game management, academic advising,
marketing, promotions, and public relations.
Job Duties
- Assist in all areas of the women’s soccer program as assigned by the Head Coach
- Assist in practice/game planning, team tactics, and scouting
- Oversee all aspects of the JV Team including travel and match scheduling
- Work with student-athletes in individual/small group sessions
- Develop professional and trusting relationships with women’s soccer staff and team
- Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes
- Identify and evaluate talent
- Assignments to attend games, practices, tournaments, showcases, etc.
- Assist the Head Coach in scheduling, directing, and attending ID Camps
- Organize, track, and communicate with all recruits using ARI software
- Proficient communication via phone calls, texting, email, mailings, social media, and meetings with each recruit
- Plan and organize in-home and/or campus visits
- Constant communication and updates with Head Coach
- Assist in Academic Achievement efforts
- Oversee and review frequent progress reporting
- Assist in all fundraising events and activities assigned by the Athletic Director
Game Day
- Assist in game plan and execution
- Setup and cleanup at home games
- Plan, execute and monitor game day warm-up and cool down
- Responsible for gathering accurate statistical data
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent required.
- Experience coaching/playing in the sport, college level required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Positive attitude
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision
- Regular, prompt & reliable attendance
Physical Demands
- The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
