Job Duties

- Enforce the guidelines, policies, and procedures set by the Food Service Department
- In charge of the sanitation of all dishes, glassware, catering equipment, pots/pans, small ware, and utensils to be cleaned
- Responsible for the use of chemicals according to the MSDS and dish machine to ensure that proper procedures are being used and temperatures are being maintained for sanitation measures
- Responsible for putting away of all dishes, glassware, catering equipment, pots/pans, small wares, and utensils in their proper location
- Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of all tables in the cafeteria
- Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of all carts on a daily basis
- Responsible for garbage removal and cleaning of the garbage receptacles
- Responsible for mopping and cleaning of all spills and debris on the floors of the Food Service department
- Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all mobile carts in the food service department at all times
- Responsible for the proper washing and sanitation of catering items to ensure no damage is occurring with these special items
- Responsible for timely completion of any further cleaning tasks as assigned by FSM or Head Chef
- In charge of training new dish room attendants as they are hired and placed in your area
- In charge of all opening operations of the dish room at the start of each day as well as ensuring all daytime tasks and duties are complete and the dish machine/room is ready for the evening shift
- Maintain a strong professional relationship with the Culinary Arts department
- Attend industry-related conferences, workshops and seminars as appointed by the Food Service Manager
- Immediately report and malfunctioning or broken equipment/small wares to FSM or Head Chef
- Regular, prompt & reliable attendance
- High school diploma or GED
- Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
- Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer oriented team
- Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
- Positive attitude
- Ability to pass a background check
- The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time and use hands to operate the equipment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
