The Maintenance Painter will perform a wide range of non-technical maintenance; Repairing sheetrock/drywall, patching walls, ceiling and other related areas, painting indoors and outdoors.
Job Duties
- Demonstrate IWCCâs core mission, vision and values
- Monitors, maintains, and performs standard repairs to building, including but not limited to painting, sheetrock/drywall repair, patching, repairing walls, baseboard trim and non-technical repairs as appropriate
- Performs carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window replacement, cabinet and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation; paints interior and exterior finishes
- May perform general maintenance tasks
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Performs snow removal, as needed
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
- Ability to present information both verbally and in writing in a professional manner
- Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as needed
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out
- Knowledge of one or more building trades preferred
- Wear/use PPE at all times when needed
- Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
- Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, internal/external customers and vendors
- Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S Driverâs License and a good driving record
- Ability to pass a drug screen if applicable
- May require a pre-employment physical
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs
- Other physical requirements:
- The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with internal and external customers, listen to and respond accurate information and directions. (hear), and observe, assess, identify, detect
- Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle and operate lifts and machinery
- Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina
- Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- Work is frequently done in outdoor weather conditions; rain, snow, sun, wind and other forms of weather
