The Summer Intern Child Care Associate will be responsible for operating a developmentally appropriate early childhood education classroom in cooperation with other Associates and Lead Associates.
Job Duties
- Assist in the implementation of activities for individual and/or groups of children within a specified age range, working within a childcare center, classroom or field environment.
- Ensuring children's portfolio and other standards are up to date through communication and conferences are met.
- Support classrooms and to cover and work with a variety of ages.
- Assist with general housekeeping tasks of the center, proper use and clean-up of equipment and areas, including laundry tasks, kitchen cleanup, storing of equipment and playground
- Must be a student in an education academy at your local high school or community college.
- Must pass pre-employment criminal background check.
- Specialty licensure/certification is required, as specified by the Iowa DHS Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Must have a letter of recommendation from your high school or college professor in order to apply.
- The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
- Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
- May require lifting up to 60 pounds
