About The Role
We are seeking our first VP Finance, an experienced leader in the domain that will be a strategic business partner to the CEO and shape the organisation on our next stage of the journey after raising a significant Series B round and scaling sustainably. This VP of Finance will be an aspiring or in-seat finance leader that is passionate about maximising the business’s market potential, can communicate and challenge investors, and understands the needs of the organisation as it progresses towards its strategic objectives.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and drive profitable expansion.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Leadership Team, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters to support business development and operational decision-making.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the company’s financial projections, budgets, and forecasts in collaboration with the Head of Finance & Operations.
- Establish and enhance the financial planning environment to support capital allocation decisions across all functions.
Fundraising and Investor Relations:
- Lead, prepare for, or significantly support fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Build and manage relationships with external investors, banks, and intermediaries, providing necessary information and updates regarding company performance.
Operational Oversight:
- Work closely with the existing team to ensure the seamless operation of financial functions, including accounting, FP&A, revenue operations, and legal compliance.
- Monitor financial performance through key indicators, providing insights to the executive team to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a liaison between Finance and other departments to ensure financial strategies are integrated across the organization, promoting a culture of transparency and collaboration.
- Communicate financial data clearly and effectively to various stakeholders, ensuring understanding and buy-in from both internal and external audiences.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, implementing policies and procedures that ensure regulatory compliance and safeguard the company’s financial assets.
- Develop strategies for liquidity management, including exposure to potential liquidity events.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Finance team, encouraging innovative thinking and proactive problem solving.
- Stay informed on industry trends and evolving best practices in finance, technology, and SaaS economics to enhance the company's financial practices.
What You'll Need
- Significant track record as a CFO or VP Finance in a tech scale-up operating in a fast-paced environment, with tangible and sustainable impact on business strategy and direction.
- In-depth experience working within a SaaS business, showing a profound understanding of the key underlying econometrics.
- Experience preparing, leading or heavily supporting a fundraising process, managing investor relations and Boards.
- Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
- Demonstrable experience of building a financial planning environment to support growth plans including capital allocation needs for workforce, product and geographic expansion.
- Proven success in being a strategic partner to the CEO and executive teams to support the development of the company.
- Recognising the importance of clear and attractive presentation of financial data, ensuring it's easily comprehensible to stakeholders.
- Experience managing and fulfilling the needs of a variety of stakeholders including external investors, banks and intermediaries.
- Exceptional strategic mindset with the ability to execute rapidly, balancing high-level vision with practical implementation.
- Open to cultural shifts within the organisation, as well as adapting to the rapidly changing nature of the tech and digital industry.
- Ability to travel to Prague on a regular basis.
