Job Summary
We are actively seeking an experienced CIO Consultant to join our team to oversee the IT
Department of a Critical Access Hospital. The position reports to the CEO of the hospital and
will be an important member of their Executive Team.
Key Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Create a strategic technology direction for the hospital(s).
• Develop and manage the annual technology budget.
• Evaluate all new IT products and applications to ensure compliance to regulations.
• Review all IT contracts and purchases from all departments to ensure compliance.
• Evaluate new vendors and manage relationships.
• Oversee the Management of the IT Department
• Stay aware of changing regulations and compliance issues to determine how they will
impact the hospital.
• Act as the Security Officer for the Hospital.
• Develop and administer Security Awareness Training for all employees.
• Oversee annual HIPPAA Risk Assessment and manage all projects concerning Gap
analysis.
• Attend Board Meetings and present when necessary.
• Act as Security manager for the accounting system.
• Add / Change / Delete all user accounts.
Requirements
• Must travel to the hospital / client location
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, certification,
and work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with C-suite executives.
• Previous experience in healthcare.
