We are seeking a high-caliber patent agent with a strong electrical and / or computer engineering background for an excellent law firm opportunity. This is a well-managed, highly respected, and booming practice. The professionals within this firm have impressive backgrounds and have successfully cultivated a truly cooperative and collegial environment wherein everyone is treated with respect and there is plenty of opportunity to grow as a well-rounded practitioner.
The bulk of the work in the pipeline relates to initial patent drafting and prosecution for a diverse roster of sophisticated high-tech clients, both domestic and foreign. Providing support for opinions (patentability, infringement, freedom to operate), portfolio management, due diligence, and litigation is also in the mix, depending on your experience and the ongoing needs of the practice.
Your specific exposure will be dependent upon your technical expertise and experience. Here, you will see a diverse array of electrical and computer engineering applications (industrial and consumer electronics, biomedical devices and instrumentation, power and control systems, RF, WiFi, mobile communications, IEEE standards, enterprise applications, network security, network protocols, etc.).
Patent Agent Requirements :
- Minimum BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics. Prior engineering experience is a plus.
- Must have at least 2 years of full-time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.
- USPTO bar.
- Strong academic credentials.
