We are currently recruiting for a strong patent attorney opportunity within a highly-regarded law firm. The responsibilities will primarily relate to drafting and globally prosecuting patents, portfolio strategy and client counseling, patent opinions and related analysis (patentability, infringement, validity, freedom to operate). There will also be the possibility of IP licensing, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and trademark work.

Within this practice, you will be exposed to a diverse array of complex software and computer engineering applications (cryptography, block-chain, artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise and mobile applications, databases, web and cloud services, operating systems, software user interfaces, open source, 3D graphics, grid computing, networking, telecommunications, network protocols, IEEE standards, network security, etc.).

This practice consistently attracts high profile clients and sophisticated, complex IP work. Your client and portfolio assignments will be dependent upon your technical expertise and experience. Notably, you will have plenty of interaction with client and firm management within a very cooperative and truly collegial environment that contributes to the overall growth of well-rounded practitioners.

Patent Associate Requirements :

• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills suitable for substantial client interaction.
• Minimum BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or possibly Physics.
• Prior engineering experience is a plus.
• Must have at least 1 year of full-time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.
• CA Bar, USPTO bar.
• Strong academic credentials.

Of Counsel :

300k portable book, for which this practice provides generous origination consideration. If you are an Of Counsel or Partner looking for an outstanding platform within which to integrate your existing portfolio of clients, this could be for you.

Since this practice deals with domestic and international clients, dual fluency is not required; however, such fluency in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean would certainly be of value.
