The responsibilities will primarily relate to drafting and globally prosecuting patents, portfolio strategy and client counseling, patent opinions and related analysis (patentability, infringement, validity, freedom to operate). There will also be the possibility of IP licensing, Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and trademark work.Within this practice, you will be exposed to a diverse array of electrical and computer related applications (industrial control systems, consumer electronics, biomedical devices and instrumentations, analog and digital circuits, RF, WiFi, wireless telecommunications, network protocols, IEEE standards, network security and protocols, artificial intelligence (AI), web and cloud services, etc.)This practice consistently attracts high profile clients and sophisticated, complex IP work. Your client and portfolio assignments will be dependent upon your technical expertise and experience. Notably, you will have plenty of interaction with client and firm management within a very cooperative and truly collegial environment that contributes to the overall growth of well-rounded practitioners.Patent Associate Requirements : Must possess excellent interpersonal skills suitable for substantial client interaction.Minimum BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics. Prior engineering experience is a plus.Must have at least 1 year of full time claim drafting and patent prosecution experience with a reputable law firm.CA Bar, USPTO bar.Strong academic credentials.Of Counsel :
