The IPC Innovations Team is a key part of the Chief Operating Transformation Officer (COTO) long-term strategy, dedicated to exploring emerging technologies and developing solutions to drive IPC’s strategic growth and adaptability. Operating independently yet aligned with IPC’s product and technical standards, the team focuses on pioneering advanced technology solutions that meet evolving financial market needs.
The primary objective of the Innovations Team is to design, develop, and deliver customer-centric solutions that integrate IPC products with emerging technologies and partner applications. Playing a critical role in shaping IPC’s future offerings, the team ensures that IPC remains at the forefront of financial technology advancements, delivering solutions that anticipate market demands and foster enhanced customer engagement.
Role Overview:
The Product Owner on the Innovations Team plays a crucial role in defining and prioritizing the team's backlog, acting as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team. This position requires strong collaboration skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of agile methodologies. Working closely with the Director of Product Management, Customers, and internal stakeholders, the Product Owner collaborates to gather requirements and understand customer needs. By translating these insights into actionable user stories, they create a clear vision for the Innovation team's work.

Throughout the development cycle, effective communication is key for the Product Owner. They regularly update stakeholders on project progress while gathering feedback to iterate on product features. By maintaining open lines of communication with customers and internal stakeholders alike, they ensure that everyone is aligned towards achieving innovation goals. Overall, as a member of the Innovations Team, being a successful Product Owner requires strong leadership skills combined with an understanding of market dynamics. Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:
- Strong combination of technical knowledge and financial service acumen
- Comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies
- Collaborative team player, willing to contribute to additional tasks such as testing, documentation, and training
- Proactive self-starter with excellent project management skills, capable of effectively managing multiple tasks
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams towards a shared objective
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to resolve complex challenges.
- Proficient in documenting processes, strategies, and project outcomes.
- 2-3 years of experience in a role related to Product Management or Product Development
- Demonstrated success in delivering customer-centric applications or solutions
- Experience in the Financial Services / Financial Technology industry is a plus
- Familiarity with Jira or Confluence
- Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in using data analytics to drive decision-making
- Experience managing external partners and vendors.
