Job Title: Data Architect (Microsoft Fabric platform)
Location: Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid - 2 days in office Must)

Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Design and implement data architecture solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform with a focus on architecting data models and developing comprehensive dashboards and reports for visualizing data
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Work closely with data engineers to develop logical and physical data models that ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.
- Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and ease of use.
- Ensure data security and privacy by implementing appropriate measures and protocols.
- Work with Data Governance team to develop and maintain data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data analysts and other team members. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data architecture and management.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar tools for building Data Catalogs and/or Data Protection
- Building models off Lakehouses with Delta Lake
- CI/CD pipelines and release management for data solutions
- Ensuring data quality with automated tests
REQUIREMENTS:
- Advance skills in Microsoft applications including Excel, and Access
- Understanding of relational database
- BI reporting tools such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, or SSRS
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets
- High level of mathematical ability
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with tools such as Tabular Editor and DAX Studio
- Hybrid role – Located in Schaumburg, IL HQ Office. Must be able to be on-site twice weekly and additional days as needed due to projects and meetings.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum: 10 years of experience in data architecture and data management.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Fabric and have hands-on experience implementing data solutions in such an environment.
- 2 years of experience leading data architecture for mid-sized to enterprise sized organizations.
Preferred
- Current industry certifications from Microsoft or equivalent certifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Industry certifications in data architecture or related areas.
- Experience in a larger IT environment with over 3000 users and multiple domains.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- One or more of the following:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Analyst Associate
- Google Professional Data Engineer
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- IBM Certified Data Architect – Big Data
