Job Summary
The Process Engineer will be the subject matter expert in extrusion & molding of plastic pipe, particularly cPVC pipe. They will contribute to problem solving & improving our processing equipment, processes, procedures and operators’ skills through collaboration with plant teams on problem solving projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities
- Collaborate with plant personnel on troubleshooting, problem solving and improvement projects related to the extrusion & molding process and associated sub-processes.
- Analyze, identify and lead opportunities for improvement in terms of productivity, quality, scrap reduction, safety, etc.
- Contribute to documenting the equipment performance, materials evolution, production processes and experimental data for corporate learnings preservation.
- Contribute to defining equipment and tooling specs for new products or enhanced capacity to the state-of-the-art setups.
- Evaluate the new developments and offerings in terms of extrusion and downstream equipment and tooling.
- Assist the plant in mapping their production processes, analyze these processes for optimization and improvement opportunities, standardize these processes to the best practices.
- Collaborate with the plant in reviewing, developing and/or adapting training material related to the extrusion & molding process and associated sub-processes.
- Participate in Innovation projects (new products) as process specialist.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or other Technical Background
- 5 years of experience in plastics Extrusion processing
- Hands-on experience in both Extrusion and Injection Molding Processing is a huge asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record of continuous improvement accomplishments
- Excellent communication and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Results driven, detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively
