Job Summary
The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) ensures that the warehouse / yard operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction the primary goal. They will supervise, organize, and train warehouse employees while establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals. They will develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods.
They are responsible to train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term performance goals. Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics. Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service. Most importantly, maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
Principal Responsibilities
Supervise as well as perform Distribution Operations according to the existing service
and quality standards defined by IPEX Management Inc.Ensure that corporate health & safety rules are well adhered to (employees,
contractors, carriers/drivers, etc.)Manage and develop the DC team in a way that ensures team cohesion and
effectiveness in offering prompt and accurate customer serviceManage and develop the DC team in a way that ensures team cohesion and

performance reviewsScheduling and approving employee timecards
Improves staff performance by motivating, coaching, counselling, and disciplining

Develop, promote and manage the different aspects of Health & Safety, and Human
ResourcesTrack and manage multiple KPI’s to optimize service to our customers and overall DC
performancesControls inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciles with data
storage systemsAchieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling
expenditures, and analyzing variancesMeet regularly with warehouse / yard leads to analyze productivity and develop
actionable plans for loss preventionEnsure that the DC follows all internal practices such as, but not limited to, Health &
Safety, Human Resources, the Transport Management System, C-TPAT program,
company & corporate standards, etc.Ensure proper training of employees according to internal standards and
provincial/state laws and regulations specific to our industryCoordinate communications effectively between internal departments
(transportation, deployment, production, procurement, customer service, human
resources, etc.) and external stakeholders (carriers, vendors, customers, etc.)Coordinate repairs, proper maintenance of the building and equipment
Contributing ideas around operations improvements within the DC network
Update and maintain reports related to operational performance monthly and as
necessary.Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Certificates
- Completion of a college diploma in a related field (Logistics, Supply Chain
Distribution, Logistics and/or Customer Service;
- Applicants must successfully pass a C-TPAT background check.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Excellent written & verbal skills;
- 7 Years People Leadership experience required; leadership experience in a union environment an asset
- Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff;
- Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal;
- Ability to manage processes;
- Ability to accurately analyze information;
- Experience in an RF environment and SAP is an asset.
