Job Summary:
The Director of Resource Management (DRM) will focus on resourcing for IPG Health’s new client-centric centralized Technology model across U.S. agencies. The DRM builds strong relationships and fosters trust with Technology Client leads, developers, and QA professionals who are experts in their clients' systems and workflows, as well as with finance, senior leadership, and Human Resources. The DRM is responsible for optimizing resource allocation by providing staffing recommendations that consider skill sets, team composition, and financial viability. With a robust background in technology, the DRM helps manage budgets and forecasting while maintaining a clear understanding of day-to-day operations to ensure the technology team successfully delivers on client projects and internal initiatives. The DRM effectively oversees team members at various levels, ensuring best practices are upheld, deadlines are met, and workloads are appropriately distributed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Resourcing: Owns strong partnerships with Technology leadership to support resource management efforts and maintains a strong understanding of day of day needs.
Operations: Works with partners at a network level to collaborate on resource challenges, ensuring adherence to network guidelines and assisting with new process/system initiatives.
Talent Management: Supervises team members by providing mentorship/guidance, hiring, and retaining highly capable people, and fostering an inclusive culture.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Resourcing Responsibilities:
- Establishes strong relationships with key stakeholders; confidently making recommendations to match talent to task holistically and creating optimum team structures within allowed budgets of scopes.
- Understanding the varying needs of business stakeholders and caters communications styles and recommendations accordingly
- Maintain accurate data regarding resourcing demands, with both a short-term and long-term view for the agency through proactive planning and scheduling.
- Partner with leadership in various departments to develop scopes of work, with a specific focus on technology resource identification and budget development.
- Mitigates resource concerns by providing creative solutions for reallocating resources, adjusting goals, or assigning additional staff.
- Solves problems in a constructive way, sometimes having challenging conversations.
- Oversees all projects and uses documentation provided by the Project Management (PM) team to stay up to date on each project schedule, resource plan and budget.
- Reviews utilization regularly, flagging low or high numbers to department leads and providing solutions to better balance utilization.
- Point of contact for executive leadership regarding technology staffing questions, explanations of certain staffing choices, etc.
- Handles and/or delegates request for additional staff/coverage, sometimes with short notice.
- Partners closely with Technology Leads, Finance, PM, Talent Acquisition (TA), and Human Resources (HR) to coordinate staffing activities for full time and freelance staff.
- Partners with HR proactively on topics such as strategies to retain talent, misalignment of skill set and work, current and upcoming staffing gaps, etc.
- Accurately advises when freelance support is required and determines if extensions or early contract terminations are required based on workload.
- Oversees junior staff’s management of freelance lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, timesheet approvals, etc.)
- Works with Technology Leads to ensure freelancers have a positive experience from onboarding through the end of their assignments and suggests improvements to onboarding processes as needed.
- Monitors monthly freelance costs and hours, escalating concerns as needed.
- Coordinates with Technology Leads and Finance to obtain approval for freelance requests and extensions when necessary.
- Accountable for usage of internal systems for higher productivity and agency efficiency.
- May be involved in financial analysis.
- Works with PM to ensure proper resources are in place at the project level as kick offs begin.
Operational Management:
- Has a deep understanding of the industry, brands, client and scopes to help make informed staffing decisions.
- Has a deep understanding of nuances/culture of the agency, while retaining an objective, broad perspective.
- Assists in network level projects such as participating in new tools and/or process rollouts.
- Partners with network counterparts to streamline ways or working, share resources, etc.
- Keeps a pulse on the external market, industry tools and technique relevant to assigned department(s).
- Looks for ways to improve processes, procedures, tools, etc. proactively.
- Demonstrates a full understanding of IPGH network tools and guidelines for resourcing and freelancers.
- Collaborates with cross-functional team members working together towards preventing and resolving issues.
Talent Management:
- Supervises/mentors junior level team members; encourages growth and development and ensures quality of output for direct reports.
- Completes performance reviews, promotes training and development, partners with HR on employee relations issues.
- Participates in annual compensation activities.
- Keeps a pulse on the culture of the team, ensures decisions are made with an EDI lens.
- Manages, motivates, and mentors direct and indirect reports ensuring people, process, and tool adherence.
- Create and facilitate internal department training.
- Ensure proper staffing and workload distribution on the RM team.
- Follows up on status of assigned work with various team members.
- Delegates incoming tasks and assignments to RM team.
- May participate in overall department staffing conversations.

Salary Range:
$140,000 to $170,000
