JOB SUMMARY
The VP Director is a leadership role overall within SOLVE(D) and for clients. The VP Director may oversee multiple businesses or accounts within a group and is responsible for demonstrating a strong working knowledge of all media channels but most especially within digital which fuels data-driven marketing. The VP Director should identify and lead opportunities to further holistic integration across disciplines and capabilities
The VP Director must skilled in driving both strategy and integration in order to deliver an end to end marketing (not just media) perspective for the clients' business. This person is responsible for identifying business opportunities and be able to sell through innovative solutions to grow client business and increase agency revenue.
This person should also be able to work with all groups within IPG or MediaBrands to effectively deliver services in addition to SOLVE(D) media offerings and capabilities.
The VP Director is accountable for the team, ensuring that team members are supported, have access to development opportunities, and that overall scope is managed efficiently and effectively. The VP Director is also responsible for the successful management of the account, ensuring accuracy, development and adherence to timeliness and overall quality of work product and talent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Client Management
- Maintain knowledge about the industry and brand / client - product benefits, efficacy, MOA, industry challenges, client processes and client corporate culture. Place clients on the leading edge of media change. Maintain on-going contact with senior clients, lending credibility and endorsement to major presentations and projects. The VP Director will strive to nurture true partnership with senior clients and position Solve(d) as an extension of the client team
Media Planning
Oversee media plan development and take the lead on all presentations. Create media plans that are strategically and executionally sound. Review all plans to ensure quality and that flawless execution can be achieved. Integrate concepts seamlessly with creative product and clients' marketing plansTeam Management
Mentor and manage staff. Delegating to build an efficient team. Regular review of team hours to ensure time is managed to SOW, and address any shifts in SOW if necessaryJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Planning and Execution :
Oversees the Director or Associate Media Director ensuring timely, accurate, and overall work product excellenceReviews briefs for comprehensiveness, and enhances or challenges audience segmentation and KPI / measurement plan as appropriateChallenges teams on the rigor and rationale used to determine strategic or tactical outputs using data driven approach (e.g., syndicated, proprietary, analyst, historical) to channel mixes and channel allocationsServes as a team resource for advice and counsel as well partnering closely with Account Management, Strategy and Analytics for ideation and innovationDemonstrates ability to work with internal and external groups to deliver strategic excellenceMeets with vendors to assess new capabilities and innovations that are relevant for clients' media strategiesProvides and discusses industry information on media, markets and related topicsMaintains relationships with media vendors; continues to develop publisher and elevate relationships for exchange of new opportunities / ideasClient & Internal Relationships :
Identifies opportunities to existing and perspective clients while demonstrating the ability to sell SOLVE(D) and / or IPGHealth offerings to grow business, whether organic growth with existing clients or new business opportunitiesMust understand resource time utilization and make appropriate staffing recommendations based on actual conditionsProvide tightly defined SOWs to clients and to set reasonable expectations based on staffing allocationsBuilds trusting, collaborative relationships with internal and external constituents at appropriate levelsManages expectations of clients and deliverables while identifying gaps / areas of improvement and creating opportunities to addressAccurately represents the client's point of view or corporate culture / biases when reviewing work, leveraging this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to clientParticipates and presents in New Business efforts and presentations, where appropriateCapable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structureStrategic Thinking & Leadership :
Provide and / or guide plan inputDevelop and steward planning processes and process across teamDemonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessaryUnderstand and analyze the root causes of problems and develop ways to rectifyGuide and assist staff to arrive at potential solutions to problems / issuesEnsures all relevant parties are informed and knowledgeable about client business challenges and opportunities as well as internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.Mentor, train, motivate and develop a media planning group while integrating appropriate extended team members such as search, social, and analyticsConstruct and deliver accurate, honest and timely performance management documents and ensure subordinates receive feedback from their line managers EDUCATIONDEGREE / DIPLOMA AREA OF STUDY REQUIRED / PREFERRED Bachelor's degree Preferred LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AREA OF EXPERTISE REQUIRED / PREFERRED 10 years of related media work experience Required At least 2-years' experience with Pharma Required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

SALARY
160,000.00 - $215,000.00 annually
The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current / former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's / applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
