Environmental Test Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Environmental Test Technician to perform hands-on stress screening on flight hardware, including thermal, vibration, and pressure testing, in accordance with company procedures. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining test equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple test projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental stress screening (thermal, vibration, and pressure) on flight hardware following company protocols.
- Install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain test equipment, including vibration tables, thermal chambers, pressure systems, and data acquisition (DAQ) devices (PTs, TCs, voltage, and current mass flow meters).
- Collaborate with test engineers and coordinate daily test activities with management.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform routine maintenance of equipment and work areas following 5S standards.
- Safely set up and operate test systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage multiple test projects simultaneously while meeting operational deadlines.
- Configure test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation according to test plans and specifications.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate technical, schedule, and cost risks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of environmental test experience, specifically in vibration, shock, or specification performance testing.
- High school diploma or GED with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities, including prioritization, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ability to work independently, adapt in ambiguous situations, build trust, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and testing procedures.
- Experience with data acquisition systems, data analysis, and data processing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, shop orders, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic test equipment.
- Competency in using software systems, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to climb ladders/stairs and lift up to 50 lbs. for short durations.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or legally admitted as a refugee or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or technical degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in designing and fabricating test equipment from engineering development to manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems, non-conformance systems, ticketed request systems, and order scheduling systems.
- Experience in maintaining calibrated equipment.
- Familiarity with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and fittings.
- Expertise in applying test instrumentation and control components (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, flow meters, load cells, relays, solenoid valves).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Experience with National Instruments, Dewesoft, or Arduino (LabVIEW/TestStand).

Compensation
The pay offered to a successful candidate will be determined by various factors, including education, work experience, location, job responsibilities, certifications, and more. Additionally, IPGenius provides a comprehensive benefits package, all subject to eligibility.
