Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable IT Field Service Technician with expertise in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network equipment. The technician will be responsible for the setup of computers, monitors, and network systems, ensuring optimal performance and seamless integration of all dental technology. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT support, hardware installation, and network setup. Experience in the Dental industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Setup:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network equipment (e.g., computers, monitors, dental imaging systems, workstations, routers, and printers, audio/visual, security) at client locations
- Perform physical installation and setup of equipment, ensuring all devices are properly connected and functional
- Includes mounting of monitors, PCs, network rack, etc.
- Cabling (Audio/Visual, Security, etc.) Low Voltage a plus.
- Cable Management
- Conduct tests to verify correct configuration and performance of systems, including compatibility with specific software
- Follow company specific designs for installation and network configuration
- Network Configuration:
- Install and configure local area networks (LANs), wireless networks, and internet connections for dental offices
- Ensure that all devices, including dental imaging equipment, computers, and network components, are integrated and communicate effectively
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, resolve network-related problems, and provide solutions for optimal performance
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide on-site technical support for clients, addressing issues with hardware, software, and network systems
- Diagnose and repair technical problems related to dental hardware, such as digital X-ray equipment, patient management systems, and imaging devices
- Offer remote and on-site troubleshooting and maintenance services as needed
- Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and software updates on all systems to ensure optimal performance
- Assist in the replacement or upgrading of outdated hardware and software
- Provide clients with training and guidance on new technology and system updates
- Client Interaction and Communication:
- Serve as the main on-site point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Document and report all service activities, including installations, repairs, and maintenance
- Provide clear, concise instructions to staff on using new equipment and software
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all installations and setups comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, including patient data security and HIPAA compliance
- Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in dental technology, software, and hardware to ensure the best possible solutions for clients
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in IT, computer science, or related field is preferred
- Experience:
- Proven experience (2 years) as an IT technician, ideally within the dental industry or healthcare settings
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking equipment, and dental technology systems
- Hands-on experience with dental imaging software, practice management software, and other dental hardware is a plus but not necessary
- Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless networking
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems
- Dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix), and dental hardware is a plus but not necessary
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Experience and/or knowledge in Low Voltage cabling a huge plus
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CompTIA A or Network certification
- Dental IT-specific certifications or training (e.g., imaging software certifications)
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transport IT hardware and equipment - Up to 50 lbs
- Physically mounting computers, monitors, cameras, audio/video(TV)
- Pull cable through walls, attics and crawlspaces
- Must be comfortable working in clinical environments, including dental operatories, while adhering to health and safety standards
- Abie to use ladders up to 12’.
Work Environment:
- This position requires travel to dental offices and medical facilities.
- Field service technicians may be required to work outside regular office hours to accommodate client needs.
- Working in attics, crawl spaces and other non-finished areas of commercial buildings will be required at times for installation of equipment and cabling.
- The technician will work independently or as part of a team, depending on the project.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,767.00 - $68,916.00 per year
