Summary
The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) serves as a field-based marketing position responsible for facilitating engagement opportunities and strategic brand partnerships with Hematology & Oncology Key Opinion Leaders and Key Account Leaders including physicians, nurse leaders and pharmacy leaders, on a regional and national level within a defined geography. The position supports our entire Hematology & Oncology portfolio including Tazverik® and Onivyde® as well as pipeline and future commercialized Hematology/Oncology brands.
TLL engagements will aim to gain market insights, uncover marketing collaboration opportunities, and foster productive key opinion leader relationships to advance advocacy for the Ipsen Oncology Portfolio. TLL team will effectively communicate the brand story to KOLs and identify strategic partnerships with the aim of creating advocates for our brands at large practices and major institutions throughout the US in the assigned regions.
This role serves as a liaison between home office-based departments, field-based colleagues and health care professionals who are leaders in their respective fields. To be successful, the TLL team members will build close working relationships with, but not limited to, National Sales Directors, Regional Business Directors, Oncology Account Specialists, MSLs, Marketing Teams, Value & Access to ensure alignment on broader business objectives in their assigned regions. All TLL interactions are on-label and consistent with commercial compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
The TLL is responsible for three key areas of focus: KOL Engagement & Commercial Management, Marketing Initiatives, and Conferences/Meeting Engagement & Strategy. This position will support and coordinate the development of peer to peer tactics associated with our current Hematology/Oncology brands, as well as potential future Hematology/Oncology brands.
Your territory will include New England & Mid Atlantic States with focus on major metropolitan areas (full state coverage includes: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia)
Main responsibilities / job expectations
Manage and deliver on impactful engagement activities / projects within assigned region with moderate oversight and team support- inclusive of HCP meetings, strategic planning with field partners and leadership, and execution of key priorities within that region
Develop and execute engagement plans to collaborate with KOLs to ensure TAZVERIK®and Onivyde® messaging is aligned with Ipsen brand goals
Work under close partnership with the Regional Business Directors to align on key regional business priorities and support the execution of those priorities in collaboration with home office, sales, V&A, and other stakeholders
Develop and implement a strategy to drive KOL advocacy for TAZVERIK® ®and Onivyde®
Gather insights to advance brand strategies and deliver business results
Develop, coordinate, and execute a strategic plan for congress and professional society meetings and support customer meetings at all major conferences for senior leadership team
Lead in the design, recruitment, and execution of advisory boards
Function as a field member of the marketing team, collaborating with sales, value & access, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, senior management, and other teams to further core TLL responsibilities and present One Ipsen experience
Effectively translate scientific, clinical, and market research into actionable commercial educational programs with moderate oversight and team support
Create awareness of new Ipsen projects including new disease states, promotional data availability, and new indications with key opinion leaders
Engagement and contribution to TLL team priorities, activities, and culture
Cultivate/identify, assess, and share key educational/marketing agency partners supporting TLL activities
Knowledge, abilities & experience
The candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to effectively align with the members of the extended Ipsen team and effectively manage collaborations across a complex matrix. This role requires the ability to understand hematology and oncology at a level that can support conversations with thought leaders. The TLL will need superior organizational skills in order to support communicating our internal activities as well as organizing the thought leader’s exposure to our partners such as speaker bureaus and advisory event planners.
Additional knowledge includes;
BA/BS degree
2 years previous TLL (or industry field) experience with proven track record of successful impacts required
3 years experience within Hematology/Oncology sales, marketing, or clinical required
3 years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills and/or previous management experience preferred
Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams towards a shared vision of success
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
Ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines
Demonstrated ability to communicate with key external stakeholders and actively represent the company, brand teams, and discuss key therapeutic areas
Demonstrated ability to achieve key milestones and business objectives working with peers and colleagues with and without direct authority
Ability to travel as the role will have significant geographic areas of responsibility as well as coverage of national and regional conferences/programs
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills; ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the organization; strong presentation skills required.
Demonstrated strong organization skills: time management and project management.
Minimum approximately 70% travel
The annual base salary range for this position is $182,000 - $230,000.
This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program as well as our long-term incentives program.

The hiring range displayed above is the range of possible base pay compensation that Ipsen believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting. The hiring range is based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills. Ipsen may pay more or less than the posted range and this range may be modified in the future.
