Position Overview:
This exciting role as a Scientific Field Expert in the Oncology Therapeutic Area presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to Ipsen's mission of delivering innovative solutions for cancer treatment.
To succeed in this challenging position, you will need to possess in-depth knowledge of Ipsen's oncology/hematology products and therapeutic area, along with substantial experience in life cycle management and developing lasting relationships with influential experts in the field.
You will have the responsibility of establishing and maintaining trusted partnerships with key thought leaders and healthcare providers, ensuring that they receive timely access to cutting-edge scientific information and emerging trends in the field.
This role demands extensive travel throughout the Pacific Northwest region, leveraging a combination of live and virtual interaction methods. The ideal candidate will be based near a major airport within the designated territory.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain unparalleled scientific expertise on Ipsen's Oncology/Hematology molecules/products, and therapeutic area to inform and educate thought leaders.
- Create and sustain a network of esteemed thought leaders to guarantee comprehension of evolving healthcare trends across the relevant therapeutic area landscape.
- Provide informed, accurate responses to on and off-label inquiries, adhering to Ipsen's strict standards of integrity, compliance, and adherence to its guidelines, policies & procedures.
- Represent Ipsen and the US Medical Affairs Team at prestigious scientific conferences, continuing medical educational events, and medical meetings.
- Analyze data to extract valuable insights from stakeholder interactions and present findings to the organization through suitable channels.
- Capture and document insightful perspectives that deepen our understanding of the needs of thought leaders, healthcare providers, and patients, and share these insights internally.
- Address unsolicited requests regarding investigator-sponsored studies (ISS) and facilitate ISS submissions through established internal processes.
- Support Company-Sponsored Studies (CSS) from Phase I-IV, involving investigator/site identification, site initiation visits, and providing feedback on operational management to ensure optimal site selection and performance.
- Respond to unsolicited queries for medical information related to Ipsen products and disease state areas.
- Deliver high-quality training and facilitate speakers on Ipsen's products.
- Foster and nurture working relationships across internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs colleagues, Clinical Operations, HEOR, R&D, Medical Information, and Commercial) while upholding stringent compliance with relevant company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Prioritize tasks efficiently and manage competing responsibilities to optimize performance and achieve local medical plan goals within predetermined timelines.
- Participate in committees or project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and learning within the therapeutic area and participate in relevant upskilling programs.
Educational Background and Work Experience:
- PhD or MD/D.O. in a scientific discipline (PharmD, DPT, Nursing, etc.)
- At least 5 years of experience in a related MSL role
- Oncology MSL experience is highly desirable
- Proven track record in product launches and life cycle management
