Position Summary:
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for monitoring inventory and enforcing all material handling standard operating procedures, assisting with physical inventory counts, receiving and tracking Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) inventory of data modems (ONTs), Wi-Fi gateways and mesh units as well as miscellaneous installation materials. This position will also be responsible for picking, assigning and staging new equipment for field techs to pick up and for cleaning, testing and redeployment of returned customer equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses the inventory software, NetSuite, to order, receive, assign and release all warehouse inventory products.
- Ensures NetSuite is kept current by receiving, assigning, updating, closing, cancelling inventory movement transactions in real time.
- Completes and maintains appropriate shipping and receiving documentation.
- Monitors incoming transfer orders and ensures accurate fulfillment.
- Supports the distribution of materials & CPE to Field Technicians.
- Receives CPE returns and moves thru the various refurbishing statuses including cannibalization when appropriate.
- Performs accurate periodic inventory checks, completes physical inventory counts and executes cycle counts on an ad hoc basis
- Researches and resolves CPE returns in improper statuses.
- Gathers, cleans, tests and redeploys returned CPE to appropriate location and/or repair vendor.
- Collects obsolete units and disposes of them following the appropriate company procedure.
- Occasionally provides pickup, delivery, and loading/unloading of CPE, materials, and equipment by safely operating fleet vehicles.
- Processes returned equipment including sorting, boxing, labeling, shrink wrapping & staging.
- Manually loads and unloads deliveries and daily pick-ups.
- Utilizes light warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks (push & electric), hand trucks and shrink wrap machines.
- Responds to inventory/warehouse related inquiries timely and communicates with internal customers regarding material discrepancies.
- Maintains neat, organized warehouse and yard inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 years of related work experience preferred (e.g. warehouse operations and inventory management)
- Experience using an inventory management software, NetSuite preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a professional and positive demeanor
- Aptitude to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jack, stretch wrap machine, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive drive to improve processes and deliver value
- Willingness and ability to solve complex technical problems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with associates and stakeholders of all levels
- Strong Microsoft Office skills—particularly Excel
- Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization capabilities
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Ability to operate a standard truck/vehicle
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use a variety of different tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers
- Ability to use cleaning products, including denatured alcohol, sandpaper, and paint
