About the role
To support the Operations Planning Manager in developing the optimum production plan to satisfy customer demand, optimise machine utilisation and optimise production efficiency.
Key responsibilities;
- Support the Operations Planning Manager in the preparation and maintenance of the site production plan.
- Liaise with commercial, engineering and operations teams for input as needed.
- Focus on optimising production efficiency, profitability and on-time-delivery.
- Release production orders to shop floor.
- Provide Customer Service Representatives with planned ship dates for release of order confirmations to customer.
- Track production orders to fulfilment, updating status in S&OP system and production plan as required.
- Review production plan regularly to monitor ability to meet on time delivery and ensure timely updates to the customer
- Daily review of operational performance to plan and assist, as required, in producing recovery plans with operations team.
- Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure material availability to satisfy schedule, including communication of raw-material demand and agree the purchasing plan for replenishment.
- Supporting departmental cost reduction activities such as aged stock reduction and sale of excess finished goods.
- Assist in preparation of monthly shipment and revenue plans to meet site operational and revenue targets.
- Work with logistics team to satisfy shipment plan and maximise on-time-delivery to all customers.
About you
- Previous experience in a production planning role
- Experience of S&OP processes and software, ideally gained in a manufacturing environment
- Understand material logistics operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail
