Job Summary
As a key member of the Product Management Group (PMG) you will be responsible for ensuring the success of the IQGeo products in the utilities market. You will need to create strong working relationships and influence across executive leadership, within the PMG, engineering and other functional groups to help define and execute the product vision and strategy for the utility market. This is a business-facing role engaging directly with customers at all levels of management to develop\refine portfolio strategy and influence customer direction. Candidates must understand the target customers domain, business, use cases, the IQGeo product functionality, and any constraints involved with making great products that customers want to buy.
As a domain expert in utilities processes, successful candidates will demonstrate depth of knowledge in the utilities domains, and related processes such as network design, construction and operations. Candidates should also have an appropriate background in geospatial, IT/technology and cloud technology concepts as applied to the utilities domain.
Duties/Responsibilities
In this role you will be expected to fulfill roles of inbound and outbound product management, including:
- Be the Voice of the Customer, understand what customers need, will buy, and their business imperatives.
- Champion the vision and strategy of the products, be able to articulate the roadmap and value propositions to all parts of the organization.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the IQGeo utilities application functionality.
- Gather customer workflows and user stories/product requirements and clearly document them using IQGeo’s preferred tools and effectively communicate them to the Engineering teams.
- Create a strong working relationship & exert influence across product management, engineering and other stakeholder groups to successfully execute business strategy across IQGeo, partners and customers.
- Understand the competition and their positioning and respond to this in the product vision and roadmap.
- Understand and monitor the utilities markets to identify emerging trends and ensure new business opportunities are reflected in the roadmap.
- As a domain and technology subject matter expert in utilities provide guidance and mentorship to other teams, particularly Engineering.
- Be responsible for prioritizing feature backlogs, coordinated with the Head of Product Management and other PMG team members.
- Regularly validate that on-going product development is delivering value and meeting the outcomes of the specific workflows/use case(s).
- Present current state of development to internal and external stakeholders to obtain feedback and reflect this feedback in subsequent user story refinement and prioritization.
- Present and discuss products and related roadmaps with customers and at internal events.
- Participate in industry events to increase IQGeo’s market visibility and to influence market direction as a thought leader.
- Work in collaboration with product marketing to generate impactful product marketing material to support product launches that demonstrate the value and benefit of the products.
- Work with the PMG to implement and follow appropriate product management processes to ensure smooth and timely operation of all product management related processes.
- Work with internal stakeholders and third parties to assess and establish both sales and technology partnerships.
- Position has global responsibilities so successful candidates must be willing to undertake global travel.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong product management skills\background able to contribute to and execute product vision and roadmap.
- Proficient with product management software, e.g., Atlassian Suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, etc.).
- Ideally have experience in geospatial sector in telecoms or utilities domain.
- Ideally have experience\knowledge of cloud deployment technology and system integration via APIs.
- Experience with software engineering and agile software development lifecycles.
- Ability to balance competing priorities of stakeholders.
- Understand new technologies and their impacts and identify new opportunities based on emerging trends.
- Effective communication with remote/global teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience
- Ideally a Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) or GIS-related subject.
- 3 years of industry/technical experience in utilities domain along with leadership background.
- 3 years product management experience interacting with software development.
Eligibility Requirements
- This is a global position with significant focus on North America, therefore successful candidates must be willing to travel globally.
- Location preferred to be North American east coast, (must be based in US\Canada) or from company office in Denver, USA.
