• Position: Cybersecurity System Engineer
• Location: 2 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ(Hybrid)
The Cybersecurity System Engineer will design, implement, and maintain complex security infrastructures within the Port Authority’s networked environment. This role focuses on both IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems, ensuring that security solutions are robust, scalable, and compliant with applicable regulations. Candidates must be prepared to work in a government contracting setting with strict security standards and on-site responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in system security engineering, ideally within government or other highly regulated industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in configuring and maintaining security tools (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection, etc.).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or CompTIA Security (or ability to obtain them).
• Must be able to pass required background checks and/or obtain necessary security clearances.
Job Responsibilities
• Architect and implement secure network, system, and application configurations across IT/OT environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot various security tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities.
• Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Port Authority cybersecurity regulations.
• Develop and maintain documentation of system security configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Provide input on emerging threats and evolving security technologies to enhance the security posture.
• Participate in incident response activities, including root cause analysis and remediation steps.
