iQuasar LLC is seeking a Firmware Engineer. iQuasar is an 18 -year-old Northern Virginia company delivering recruitment, proposal development, digital marketing, software development and IT solutions to Small and Medium Business (SMB) Government contractors in technology and Civil Engineering verticals.

- Position: Firmware Engineer
- Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
- Position Type: Full-time
- Travel: Onsite
- Clearance: TS/SCI
Firmware Engineer Responsibilities & Duties:
- Design and develop firmware for embedded systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements.
- Test and debug firmware to ensure optimal performance.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for firmware projects.
- Optimize firmware code for efficiency and reliability.
- Implement firmware updates to improve system functionality.
- Analyze and resolve firmware-related issues and bugs.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Participate in design and architecture discussions.
Firmware Engineer Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C , or Assembly.
- Knowledge of hardware interfaces and communication protocols.
- Extensive experience with debugging tools and techniques.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Familiarity with hardware design and electronics.
- Proven experience in firmware development.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of microcontrollers and microprocessor architecture.
- Ability to work with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of various communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge or understanding of Fortran.
- Familiarity with ARM architecture.
