Specific Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex applications that require a thorough knowledge of administrative, and technical skills. Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E). Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive automated engineering solution. Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation and makes charts and graphs to record results. Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the Task Order May be required to serve as Task Leader. Responsible for ensuring the quality and services delivered for a particular task(s) for which this skill is performing the Task Leader position. Provide management, configuration, administration, implementation, and optimization of storage devices throughout DMEA networks. Manage technologies and processes to improve the performance, reliability, and availability of DMEA data storage resources. Manage and configure storage in accordance with federal, Department of Defense (DoD), and DMEA policy. Administer, support, maintain, patch, and update web proxy and associated systems. At a minimum the Systems Engineer – Senior will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Provide support for the data storage systems.
- Engineer and implement networked file systems such as NFS and CIFS.
- Allocate storage to RedHat servers.
- Design, plan and implement storage strategies.
- Provide storage planning, data management, and disaster recovery planning best practices and test accordingly.
- Install, configure, and integrate files with the RedHat environments.
- Provide backup, recovery, and archiving of data.
- Perform and enable controls to ensure the virtual infrastructure security posture is in compliance with DISA STIGs and DMEA regulations.
- Set up and monitor performance and capacity monitoring capability.
- Document incidents according to DMEA policy and publish Knowledge Base articles when applicable.
- Maintain existing and when required create new SOPs in support of this objective.
- Provide system and engineering support for documented and approved projects and tasks.
- Ensure all engineered solutions are in compliance with DISA STIGs, DoD, and DMEA policies and standards.
- Ensure engineered solutions are designed to maintain the highest practical availability and service dependability.
- Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and Diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards.
- Engineer, install, configure, optimize, support, and design solutions that incorporate DoD security requirements such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Host Based Security Systems (HBSS).
- Perform duties as a Project Lead.
- Shall develop task lists, assist the MEDB project manager with project documentation, maintain project status in the DMEA automated project tracking system, and ensure milestones are identified and met.
- Meet DMEA-established service level metrics.
- Identify, analyze, and affect the resolution of hardware, software, and network problems.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- Master of Arts or Master of Science
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
Certifications:
Must have one of the following Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II) certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) – Security
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA )
- Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
- Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC)
- CompTIA Security
- Certified Network Defender (CND)
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
The following computing environment certification(s) are desired:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
