IR Centers at Chesapeake Urology is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab in Towson, MD. We are leading minimally invasive procedures across the U.S. by providing interventional radiology services in an outpatient setting.
Medical Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vitals pre/post-op and document findings in their patient chart
- Organize, authorize, and schedule appointments for referrals
- Send prescriptions electronically, by fax, or by verbally calling them in
- Assist during medical examinations
- Place IVs prior to procedure
- Triage patient calls, assess the problem, consult with the physician
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Scrubs into OR and assists the physician during procedures
- Hands instruments to the physician as needed during procedures
Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs and patient monitoring
- Ability to send prescriptions and manage medication reconciliation
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and maintaining a sterile environment
- Experience with IV placement (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and EMR systems (Cerner preferred)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (Required)
- Experience assisting with in-office procedures
- High school diploma (Required)
- English (Required)
- BLS Certification (Or Willingness to obtain)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
