It was founded in 2007 and manufactures and develops in the area of mid-infrared CO2 Ceramic Lasers. The company holds significant market shares and is growing at a very fast pace.

The company’s Vision: Become leading global provider of RF driven CO2 lasers.


SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations is a leadership role responsible for all operational functions reporting to the CEO, in alignment with the group’s global CTO. Oversees management of all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards, cost objectives, and delivered to customer expectations. The role is also responsible for the facilities and infrastructure to support a safe and productive work environment.

As the operations leader, the Director of Operations provides the management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company. This position will closely collaborate with the CEO and all members of the local leadership team, as well as with the group’s global management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

 Defines, communicates, and updates the operational vision, strategy, and objectives for the Operations team.

 Leads all aspects of Operations including Purchasing/Supply Chain, Production, Manufacturing/Sustaining Engineering, Logistics, and Facilities.

 Manages a team of managers, engineers, and supervisors including the responsibility for a team of 30 assembly technicians.

 Sets the example and creates a culture committed to quality driving process controls, continuous improvement, adherence to internal quality standards, and exceeding customer requirements.

 Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

 Develops the operational budget including staffing and Capital improvements/expenditures supported by ROI calculations.

 Defines and evaluates performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics/KPI’s with a Lean Manufacturing approach, e.g., Six Sigma.

 Leads the global sourcing effort to maintain cost-efficient availability of materials while achieving inventory and cost reduction objectives.

 Participates in the evolution and optimization of the Company’s ERP system.

 Responsible for the Company SDS binder.

 Provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.

 Motivate and lead a high-performance team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the team.

 Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational and managerial skills as well as the ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team environment.

 Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis

 Background in high volume, multiproduct manufacturing

 Experienced in LEAN and/or Six Sigma manufacturing

 Manage relationships with key vendors

 Technical background in laser and optics, is plus but not a requirement

 Familiar with OSHA regulations and workplace safety.

 Familiar with building MEP systems. Purpose, control, maintenance.

 Multi-cultural experience

 Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budgeting and resource development, and strategic planning

 Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team

 Possesses personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission

 Flexible and able to multitask; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

 Ability to manage conflict

 Data entry, processing, and reporting skills

 Works well under stress, deadline oriented


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university plus 15 years’ Operations / Manufacturing experience with a minimum of five years in a senior management role required.

 Prior experience in a Manufacturing environment is required
