Program Summary
Currently, IRCO processes approximately 1,200 invoices per month. The Accounts Payable Specialist is a vital member of the Accounts Payable team who ensures the organization meets the increasing demand of payments. Examples of payable type are employee reimbursements, client assistance and agency overhead.
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist utilizes a ticketing system and will adhere to the organization's grant-based coding system. Occasionally, they will research and reconcile a specific vendor account.
The successful Accounts Payable Specialist will be detail-oriented, communicative, highly interculturally competent and enjoy contributing to a healthy workplace culture for all employees in support of IRCO's mission.
Essential Functions
- Process accounts payable timely and accurately- ensuring expenses are posted in proper period and to the proper account
- Act as a key liaison between accounting and program staff to answer questions and troubleshoot issues
- Reconcile accounts payable schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes such as accruals and 1099's
- Process checks as needed
- Work with vendors and respond to miscellaneous inquiries as needed
- Document current processes and recommend improvements
- Other tasks within fiscal team the employee may ask to perform as needed
