Cardiology Physician Assistant
Position Purpose: Provide high-quality cardiovascular care services, assessing and managing patients according to established standards and practices. Ensure timely and courteous delivery of patient, physician, and healthcare provider needs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive medical histories and physical exams in the office and at the local hospital.
- Establish diagnoses, formulate care plans, evaluate responses, and revise plans as needed, collaborating with physicians when necessary.
- Collaborate with cardiologists on acute and long-term patient medical needs.
- Order appropriate diagnostic tests, treatments, medications, and referrals.
- Coordinate patient discharges and follow-up appointments.
- Monitor and provide continuity of care between patient visits.
- Assist with diagnostic studies, including nuclear tests, echo-stress, and cardiac stress.
- Must be a registered or certified physician assistant.

The practice boasts state-of-the-art technology, including a nuclear medicine system and echo/ultrasound equipment, and utilizes an Electronic Health Record. Our office is conveniently located near the hospital, and our outreach clinics are serviced by cardiologists who reach two-thirds of the state. The primary hospital features modern cath labs and an active open-heart surgery program staffed by board-certified cardio-thoracic surgeons.
