Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients across the lifespan.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy as needed.
- Provide follow-up care and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with practice protocols and regulations.
- Participate in limited call coverage on a rotating basis (phone consultation only).
- Stay updated on advancements in psychiatric treatments and best practices.
- Education:
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification and active APRN license in the state of Texas, OR
- Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification with active Texas licensure and relevant psychiatric experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatry or behavioral health (outpatient experience preferred) but new grads encouraged to apply with psychiatric background.
- Experience in medication management and therapy integration is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to connect with diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
