Description
Assures smooth operation of the Cardiovascular Lab by appropriately scheduling patients and physician appointments. The clerical tasks and responsibilities performed must focus on accuracy, appearance, quality, appropriateness, completeness, professionalism, and technical proficiency. These clerical tasks include patient and family interaction by phone and in person, business correspondence, monthly reports, graphs, and transferring medical data via computer. Is also responsible for assisting with patient care needs as a certified nursing assistant under the direction of the registered nurse. Has access to patient health information in regards to demographics, billing, and clerical data relevant to the current encounter. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
Shift: M-F 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Current listing as a CNA with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation in good standing or successful completion Medical Assistant Program as a Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification thru the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Medical Terminology is preferred.
- Completion of a Unit Secretary Course, Medical Terminology Course, or Unit Secretary experience is highly desired.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and business software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher with proficient keyboarding skills.
- Ability to operate standard office machines/equipment.
