Job Summary: The HIM Support Specialist must possess a broad knowledge of Health Information Management functions and be able to successfully
complete job tasks across the department. The primary focus of this position is document control and Laserfiche support. Secondary support includes
records management functions, chart completion, and chart abstracting. Performs work under only very general supervision. Maintains confidentiality at
all times. Has full access to patient health information.
Shift: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in healthcare field.
- RHIT or similar credential required
- Prior experience in Health Information Management.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment required.
- Experience with electronic medical records required.
- Detail oriented, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to identify problem situations and implement actions for improvement.
Physical Demands:
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Requires normal vision/hearing range.
- Must be able to distinguish letters and numbers
