Role Purpose Reporting to the UK Network Lead, this person will form part of the UK Technology team and will be responsible for senior level support for the IRESS network. Further duties include designing and the deployment of network solutions within the IRESS global network. Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on.. Design, configuration and implementation of IRESS network solutions, this will incorporate the following technologies – Juniper switches,, firewalls (Fortigate, and Juniper SRX), CoS/QoS, network management tools, network sniffers, Load balancers (Radware AppDirector/Alteon platforms) and VPN Technologies. Provide senior level support for LAN/WAN data communication problems and/or tasks. Provide senior level support (escalation point) to the junior members of the team. Analyse complex network problems and coordinate to resolution. Monitor network performance, capacity planning and trending. Submit and review planned network changes (Change Control). Work on global based projects to enhance the IRESS network. Provide technical/connectivity guidance to clients relating to IRESS application architecture. Provide technical support and analysis where required, both during business day and after hours (rotational shifts). Analyse application problems and assist in the coordination of resolutions where necessary. Ensure that all elements of the IRESS network infrastructure are documented and that relevant standards are understood and adhered to. To be successful in this role you will… Ideally have experience of working in a Global organisation within the financial services industry. 7 years’ experience specialising in designing/supporting large scale LAN/WAN environments and supporting/diagnosing IP based network issues. You will have an excellent understanding of all networking technologies – Ethernet, VLANs, spanning tree, routing protocols (BGP and OSPF), TCP, UDP, FTP/SFTP, firewall and WAN technologies. With a good understanding of http/https and other web based protocols. Have proven experience with state-full firewall technologies. (e.g. Fortigate and Juniper SRX). A good understanding of IT security fundamentals and the ability to manage Internet, MPLS and private network connected firewalls with large and complex rule sets. With the ability to define and enhance Network security strategies. Have the ability to work autonomously, proactively and collaboratively with various technical teams within IRESS and work well under pressure. Will take ownership of problems and coordinate to resolution (end-to-end). With a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, including the ability to communicate with non-technical customers. Experience of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) advantageous Qualifications or equivalent CCNP/Juniper Equivalent certifications or CCIE written or Juniper equivalent qualifications are highly advantageous.
