Job Summary:
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for custom automation projects. This role involves PLC programming, HMI development, electrical design, system troubleshooting, and on-site commissioning. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial automation, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Develop and implement HMI and SCADA systems for industrial automation applications.
- Design and integrate robotic and motion control systems into automated equipment.
- Work with AutoCAD Electrical to design control panels and electrical schematics.
- Conduct system testing, debugging, and commissioning of automation equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure system functionality and performance.
- Provide technical support during installation and post-installation phases.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in industrial automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in an automation or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
- Experience with HMI development (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Ignition, etc.).
- Strong understanding of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Modbus, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with robotics, motion control, and servo systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for system installations and support.
