Job Description: Director of Human Resources
Job Summary:
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources function. This role will be instrumental in fostering a positive and productive work environment, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and driving the company's talent strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll and benefits administration, worker's compensation, talent acquisition and management, employee relations, compliance, training and development, HR operations, and policy development. This individual will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership and a champion for the company's employees.
Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing guidance and expertise on all HR-related matters.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop proactive solutions.
- Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Payroll and Benefits Management:
- Oversee the administration of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage the company's benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with benefits vendors.
- Ensure accurate and timely benefits enrollment and administration.
Worker's Compensation:
- Manage all aspects of the company's worker's compensation program, including claims management, return-to-work programs, and safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable worker's compensation laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize workplace injuries and reduce costs.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment and selection strategies to attract top talent.
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for new hires.
- Develop and implement performance management programs to drive employee performance and development.
- Manage succession planning and talent development initiatives.
Employee Relations and Compliance:
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues.
- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations of employee complaints and grievances.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, and FMLA.
- Develop and maintain employee handbooks and policies.
Training and Development:
- Assess training and development needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops.
- Manage the company's learning management system (LMS).
HR Operations and Administration:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
- Manage HR information systems (HRIS) and ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain accurate employee records and files.
- Manage HR budget and expenses.
Policy and Procedure:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure policies and procedures are communicated effectively to employees.
- Conduct regular reviews of policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
