Iris Memory Care of NW OKC is looking for certified medication aides for our 3pm - 11pm shift. We staff Sunday - Thursday and Tuesday - Saturday, so must be willing to work a weekend day. If you love memory care and have a heart for seniors, we'd love to meet you!
We are a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community conveniently located off of John Kilpatrick Turnpike at 122nd and MacArthur in NW OKC. We have a small campus with a total of 54 residents split between three buildings. As a community focused on memory care, all of our residents are coping with Alzheimer's or other form of dementia. We are an age-in-place community, so you will care for residents all throughout the spectrum of the disease.
Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing Resident services and other duties as assigned. Duties include personal services, activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, life enrichment, meal services, and other tasks as needed for Resident care and service delivery.
Primary Essential Job Duties:
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
- Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors.
- Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to Residents.
- Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all Residents and completes all required documentation.
- Puts Resident Service First: Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights
- Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- Must be an active on the OK Nurse Aide Registry as a certified nursing assistant
- Minimum one year experience in working with older adults as a personal care assistant preferred.
- Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
- Experience with dementia residents preferred.
- Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements.
- Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.
