Iris Memory Care of Nichols Hills is growing! After completing a large renovation of our community, we have been in lease-up. Our census has grown that we are now looking to hire a weekend charge nurse. This LPN will serve as manager on duty on the weekends for a 12 hour shift, as well as serve as the lead clinical team member in the absence of the Wellness Director. This is an hourly position with a pay rate between $28 - $30 per hour.
We are a small, freestanding memory care assisted living community conveniently located off of Lake Hefner Parkway on May Avenue south of Britton. We have a small campus with a total of 55 residents. As a community focused on memory care, all of our residents are coping with Alzheimer's or other form of dementia. We are an age-in-place community, so you will care for residents all throughout the spectrum of the disease.
Specific Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing Resident services within the scope of license and other duties as assigned. Duties to include charge nurse services such as medication management and administration, assessment, treatment, and supervision of caregiver staff. The Charge Nurse acts as the designated person in charge in the absence of the Executive Director, Wellness Director, and/or other Department Managers.
Primary Essential Job Duties:
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
- Assumes responsibility for administering quality care to meet the total needs of Residents
- Communicates individualized plans of care to caregiver staff, and ensures individualized care according to residents' care plan as ordered by the physician.
- Provides medication assistance for Residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including: pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentation.
- Use sound nursing judgment to evaluate changes in resident situations and report to/call Wellness Director and/or physician when appropriate.
- Communicate professionally and timely with other health professionals, including MD offices, hospital care managers, nursing home social services staff, and pharmacy.
- Assist with tasks related to caregiver work as necessary or when short staffed, including assisting in dining room, performing bathing, incontinence care, life enrichment, and the like.
- Assists with orientation of new staff to job responsibilities.
- Puts Resident Service First: Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
• Must be a Licensed Nurse with active license in good standing with the state board of nursing.
• Must be willing to work Saturday and Sunday
• One year experience working in geriatric nursing or in-home health preferred.
• Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements.
• Experience with dementia residents preferred.
• Ability to communicate and work with all levels of IRIS Team Members and IRIS Department Managers effectively.
• Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
• Ability to utilize and apply basic management principles.
• Ability to communicate efficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and provide information as requested and required.
• Ability to transfer residents.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 35 pounds regularly.
• Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping.
• Ability to organize their time and follow-up with the ability to perform job tasks efficiently.
