We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Performance Marketing Account Director to join our team of Digital Marketing specialists based in Boston or New York.
You will work across a variety of brands, which helps keep things fresh and fun, and offers ample opportunity for growth by gaining experience across multiple verticals and specialisms.
Our Performance Marketing teams are known for their 360 degree understanding of the digital landscape, from PPC and SEO, to Display, Paid Social, Programmatic, and more.
The role offers a blend of client and team leadership. The focus is on strategic and tactical planning but there will also be a good amount of hands-on support on activation and project management, so no day is the same.
A strong candidate will have proven experience in a client-facing role, will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the digital landscape, and experience managing and mentoring account managers and/or executives is essential.
You’d have a data-driven mindset and be comfortable analyzing campaign performance data and developing strategic recommendations off the back of it.
You’d be growth driven and commercially minded, looking for opportunities to grow retained income from existing clients as well as supporting agency pitches when needed.

How you'd spend your day
Client management
- Developing and nurturing strong client and stakeholders' relationships.
- Leading the strategic direction of campaigns and retained scopes and proactively interrogating your client’s performance.
- Educating and persuading clients and stakeholders on said strategic direction.
- Leading, supervising and supporting AMs and EMs to develop, deliver and activate tactical plans backed by research, data analysis and best practices.
- Supporting the team in researching and analysing data to support your accounts’ strategy via tools such as Google Analytics, Google Looker Studio, SEMrush, Excel and individual ad platform tools.
- Helping the accounts’ leads in creating and delivering insightful reporting and storytelling to clients and stakeholders.
- Communicating with clients on weekly stand-up calls, monthly in-person catch-ups and quarterly business reviews, as needed.
- Identifying growth opportunities and threats across accounts and communicating with senior management to tackle them accordingly.
- Owning, monitoring and optimising commercial performance of your accounts with a focus on revenue and chargeability, guiding your team to find efficiencies in their ways of working to ensure accounts run profitably.
- Ensuring effective management of available resources to prevent account over burning.
- Staying aware scopes of work in your clients’ portfolio and account burn rates.
- Play an active role in pitches, and other cross agency initiatives as required.
- Line-managing and mentoring a team of Account Managers and/or Executives
- Helping the team prioritise workload and leading them to deliver against deadlines.
- Facilitating progression plans for your direct reports, meeting on regular bases for mentorship 121s and offering clear and actionable feedback to help them with their personal development goals using Radical Candor principles.
- Contributing to close any skill gaps in your team by facilitating ad-hoc and on-the-job training and keeping your reports up to speed with the latest industry developments and best practice.
What we're looking for
- Prior experience in a similar role. Experience in paid media is essential, especially multi-channel media planning and buying.
- 360 understanding of the digital ecosystem, including SEO and paid media.
- Confident in building strong relationships with and presenting to client stakeholders.
- Comfortable analysing data and drawing strategic recommendations.
- Enjoys working with others in a fast-paced collaboration-driven environment.
- Manages and develops their team with autonomy and empathy, being able to challenge them directly but doing so caring personally.
- Commercially driven, able formulate client development plans and meaningfully grow clients’ scope tapping into our integrated services.
- You’re a self-starter, able and eager to collaborate with peers and help your team progress. You identify with a growth mindset and don’t shy away from working across multiple clients and owning various responsibilities.
