Perform specialized hoist, rigging, and equipment operations to support sailboats and other vessels. Ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in handling, transporting, and maintaining marine equipment. Responsibilities
- Rigging and Hoisting Operations:
- Signal and direct workers for safe movement and hoisting of loads.
- Inspect and test rigging for sailboats to ensure functionality and safety.
- Select appropriate cables, pulleys, and winches based on load requirements.
- Boat Handling and Movement:
- Operate workboats to retrieve, deliver, or assist vessels.
- Use marine travel lifts, cranes, and forklifts to transport boats.
- Assist with launch and haul-out procedures.
- Maintenance and Installation:
- Install and maintain boat rigging, components, and hardware.
- Perform seasonal work, including winterizing and decommissioning boats.
- Tag and manage warranty parts.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with service management to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively regarding additional time or costs required.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace with a focus on safety.
- Customer Interaction:
- Safely operate customer boats (sail and power) for docking and maneuvering.
- Provide outstanding service by ensuring timely and professional execution of tasks.
- General Support:
- Assist with other tasks and initiatives as needed to support the team.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sailboat rigging and marine hoisting operations.
- Familiarity with marine tools, power equipment, and motorized cranes.

- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and reference materials.
- Physical capability to lift 50 pounds consistently, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
