Salary :
Apave America Inc. is currently seeking experienced API 936 Refractory Inspectors for a TAR in the Tulsa, OK area with an anticipated start date of March 2025.
Job Summary :
The API 936 Inspector is responsible for performing refractory inspection services for FCC, SRU, and heaters while ensuring that the Project Quality Plan in conjunction with Project Execution Plan is developed and implemented. This role will promote quality awareness throughout the organization, emphasizing excellence, continuous improvement, and corrective action to influence the overall success of company business. The essential duties and responsibilities of the API 936 Inspector include but are not limited to the following :
- At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standard 936.
- Interface directly with client representatives as necessary.
- Perform inspections or audits and review testing for conformance to Client specifications, industry standards, and approved procedures and reporting of results.
- Review material test reports to conformance with applicable codes and standards.
- Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
- Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and / or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client.
- Perform the follow-up of dispositions and corrective actions related to non-conformances.
- Review and agree upon project quality procedures, standards, and specifications ensuring that all parties are adhering to them.
- Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues.
- Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- Review Inspection & Testing Plans to ensure a standardized minimum level of surveillance in accordance with the contractual requirements. Identify the critical inspections and tests to be witnessed by the Owner.
- Fully comply with all IRISNDT and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.
- Welding inspection, procedures, techniques, and personnel qualifications.
- Travel may be required.
