What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Full Time position at IRMC?
Required:
- EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field and 1-year clinical education in a clinical laboratory science program accredited by NAACLS OR MLT (ASCP) certification in addition to:
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university, including 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology), 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry) AND
- 2 years full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and urinalysis, body fluids in the US /Canada or accredited laboratory within the last 4 years
- BS in laboratory science, chemistry, biology, or related field qualified to serve as the general supervisor for the laboratory
- EXPERIENCE: N/A
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) or registry eligible preferred
- Registry-eligible scientists must attain certification within 1 year of hire
- Scientists certified after January 1, 2004 must renew their certification every 3 years by participating in the certification maintenance program
