What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse - Wound Center - Full Time position at IRMC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will be:
- Assisting physicians and RNs with the development and implementation of wound treatment plans and participating in performance improvement and review activities
- Acting within the guidelines of federal and state laws, professional, and ethical practices
- Greeting and preparing the patient for the clinic visit, including but not limited to:
- Photographing and measuring the wound
- Initiation of clinical practice guidelines and any associated orders (as allowed by respective practice acts)
- Redressing the wound (as allowed by respective practice acts)
- Providing patient/family education as directed by the physician and/or RNs
- Cleaning and restocking supplies in exam rooms
- Applying multi-layer wraps
- Coordinating medical office responsibilities of plastic surgery group at the wound center
- Performing dressing changes and/or wound care within scope of practice as ordered
- Utilizing hospital computer system

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited licensed practical nursing program
- EXPERIENCE:
- Wound care experience required
- Previous medical office, clinic, or med-surg experience required
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- BLS required or obtained within 1 month of hire
- Current state license as applicable

- Days/Varies Monday- Friday
