Job Summary
Provides continuous observation, interpretation, documentation and communication of monitored patient throughout the organization. Specially trained in cardiac rhythm analysis and EKG patterns. Provides rhythm analysis and documentation of interpreted rhythm strips. Communicates frequently with Registered Nurses regarding rhythm and rhythm changes. Maintains operation and problem solves monitoring system. Other duties as assigned by Nursing Leadership. Interacts professionally with patients, physicians, nursing staff, and biomedical engineers.
Job Specification
- Minimum Education Required
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience Required
- Cardiac Telemetry Technician Certification, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Skills
- A commitment to service excellence and performance improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with legible penmanship and computer knowledge.
- Possess the ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, communicate with RN/GN staff to report changes in patient’s conditions.
- Ability to provide direct patient care to the telemetry patient.
