What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Technician -IRMC Physician Group Primary Care Walk-In Clinic in Indiana - Full Time position at IRMC?
Minimum Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in a public contact job, as a Radiology Technician.
Education/Knowledge Requirements: Graduate of accredited x-ray technician program.
Licensure/Certification: Maintain CPR certification, American Registry of Radiologic Technologist required.
Responsibilities:
• Prepares patients for x-ray procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures.
• Ensures equipment is in working order.
• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc; collecting patient history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines; charting, relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include; sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information etc. completing forms, requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately, and other front office responsibilities, as required.
• Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: preparing patient rooms, setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; managing inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms.
• Complies with Alleghenies Independent Physicians policies and procedures.
• Complies with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies, i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept of Health, HIPAA.
• Maintains strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
