THE HIGH LEVEL
IT Support Technician will be responsible for direct end user technical support for the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) contract by providing comprehensive IT support for end users at customer sites throughout Virginia and the surrounding areas. Installs, maintains, and repairs products such as equipment, integrated systems, and software at the client and/or field locations. Instructs customers in equipment operation, provides technical assistance, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots equipment for malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.

This position has a strong preference for candidates based in the Marion area and will require 25% travel.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide technical / IT support for Commonwealth of Virginia
- Perform routine maintenance on customer’s assets
- Provide comprehensive and timely resolution of all IT issues
- Responsible for system updates, ticketing and asset management
- Perform break/fix software & hardware support (including OEM-certified warranty repair)
- Execution of asset disposal activities
- Training on new products and services
- Support of end users that remotely access services (including shipping replacement devices, leveraging 3rd party hardware repair or other forms of onsite support)
- Resolution of issues involving business applications on and off premise (e.g. cloud)
- Provide support remotely via remote administration tools as well as onsite / desk side
- Support tasks include end user device configurations
- Imaging of Commonwealth devices
- May collaborate with vendors to provide technical insight
- Provide support for Windows 10/11 & MAC operating systems, software/application support, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, system restorations, etc.
- Provide after hours and weekend support as needed
- You High School plus advanced training and 2 plus years of experience.
- You're experienced with troubleshooting Hardware (laptops/desktops)
- You're available to frequently travel with reliable transportation
- You possess a valid Driver’s License
- You're able to lift a maximum of 30 pounds
- You have manual dexterity
- You're able to read asset tags
- You're able to pass a VITA background check
- You're able to pass Department of Corrections clearance
- You're able to pass Virginia State Police clearance
This position has a strong preference for candidates based in the Marion area and will require 25% travel.
