THE HIGH LEVEL
Iron Bow Technologies is looking for a Network Administrator who will assist with daily operations (moves, adds, changes, & deletes [MACD]), small CAT6 cabling jobs, replacing desk phones, replacing small uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems, etc.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The functional responsibilities of the Network Administrator include the following:
- Supporting the Voice Engineering Team's daily operations by monitoring the service request queue, prioritizing tickets, and dispatching when appropriate
- Provide on-site support for Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone deployments
- Collaborate with senior technicians to escalate and resolve complex issues
- Follows process for change reporting, as directed.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and up to 2 years' industry experience
- CCNA or equivalent certification preferred
- Knowledge of structured cabling, e.g. CAT6, T568B terminations, patch panels
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and subnetting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Basic understanding of VoIP terminology, IP addresses, and Cat6 patch cabling (both at the jack and data closet patch panels)
- Able to read floorplans, possess the ability to climb a ladder, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds (lbs.)
- Ability to pass Prince William County background check to include commercial and criminal checks
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- This position will be 100% onsite at Prince William County Government, 3 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, Virginia 22192.
