What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper, Full Time, Evening Shift position at Iron County Medical Center?
Responsibilities:
- Acknowledge, accept, and effectively demonstrate that “the patient comes first at all times.”
- Ensure that linens are appropriately re-stocked in linen room throughout shift, as necessary.

Provide efficient, on-going housekeeping services as follows:
- Utilize established cleaning and disinfecting techniques in efficient cleaning of overall facility, with a priority focus on ER treatment areas, ER waiting room, ER restrooms, and patient rooms.
- Detailed cleaning of OR based on established OR-specific cleaning protocols.
- Retrieval, proper handling, and transport of trash and dirty linens
- Proper handling and disposal of contaminated and/or Bio-Hazard materials
- Practice STANDARD PRECAUTIONS to prevent the spread of germs and cross-contamination of patients and hospital employees.
Skills and Abilities:
- Candidates expressing an interest in this position should have experience in hospital/medical office or other institutional housekeeping or be willing to fully engage in our on-the-job-training process.
- Must be neat and clean in appearance, courteous, respectful, and friendly, and demonstrate professionalism in all tasks.
- The ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions is mandatory.
- Successful candidate will be task-focused, detail-oriented, and time-conscious, and be respectful of patient privacy and comfort levels.
- Candidates interested in this position must be able to walk briskly, stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, reach, stoop, twist, turn, push, and pull objects. Good dexterity, hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills required, as well as ability to lift at least 40 pounds without assistance.
- Successful candidate is required to wear designated work attire while on campus during work hours.
