POSITION: Administrative Assistant (Seasonal)

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: SEASONAL/NON-CAREER SERVICE/NON-EXEMPT POSITION
Iron County is accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Administrative Assistant. This position will work under the guidance and direction of the Iron County Fair Manager. Duration of position not more than 26 Weeks.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs administrative, clerical and general office support duties for the Fair Manager and other support staff while assisting to coordinate the annual Iron County Fair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) or more years of closely related experience is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess and maintain valid Utah Driver's License.
- Must maintain compliance of Iron County Vehicle Policy - including maintaining an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain compliance of Iron County drug and alcohol policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; basic mathematics; Iron County Fair and associated events; various computer applications (i.e. word processing, data entry and spreadsheets).
Skill in customer service and public relations; operating various office machines and equipment; managing stress and meeting deadlines; exercising initiative, independent judgment and resourcefulness in varying conditions.
Ability to follow directions given both verbally and in writing; prioritize and organize responsibilities; maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities; distill relevant and useful elements from vast amounts of information; correctly use grammar, spelling and punctuation; understand and follow broad objectives and instructions; work efficiently and meet established deadlines; work unsupervised and accept responsibility for actions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work non-standard hours, as needed, including some weekends and holidays.
