Iron Eagle specializes in industrial services, focusing on industrial cleaning, emergency spill response, and waste management. We are expanding our operations and seeking an experienced Emergency Response Manager to join our team in Hastings, MN!
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Emergency Response Manager to lead our team in managing and mitigating oil and chemical release incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, hazardous materials management, and emergency response protocols.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Emergency Response Management
- Respond promptly to emergency events as the first person on-site
- Develop, implement, and regularly update emergency response plans for oil and chemical spills
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies during emergency situations
- Lead and train a team of emergency response professionals
- Execute and perform remediation work for chemical spills and other hazardous incidents
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits and manage and complete all necessary safety paperwork
Operations & Resource Management
- Coordinate employee assignments and schedules
- Manage equipment coordination and resources in collaboration with Operations team
- Oversee waste, time, and expense tracking
- Coordinate travel arrangements for team members as needed
Client Relations & Business Development
- Maintain clear and effective client communications
- Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling projects
- Manage billing and invoicing processes
Technical Expertise
- Perform waste profiling and sampling
- Conduct post-incident analysis and develop recommendations for process improvements
Team & Resource Coordination
- Manage resources and equipment for rapid deployment during emergencies
- Maintain internal communications regarding staffing, equipment needs, and capital requirements
SHIFTS/SCHEDULE
- Standard shift time is 7am, however, due to the nature of our business some flexibility is required (there will be occasional start times before or after 7am. You may also work more than 8 hours/day depending on project/client needs. You will be notified of schedule changes in a timely manner).
- You are guaranteed Full Time Hours. Our Employees average between 2080 - 3000 hours per year! Some weeks you may experience OT, and other weeks may dip below 40 hours, but you will average more than FT by the end of the year.
TRAVEL
- Due to the nature of our business in emergency response, you can expect to travel approximately 15% of the year. Travel is usually scheduled, however, some emergency spill response requires unscheduled travel as well. You must be flexible and willing to mobilize when an emergency event arises
ON-CALL
- Due to the nature of our business in industrial services, you are expected to adhere to our On-Call Rotation Schedule, which requires you to commit to at least 1 On-Call week per month (Thursday - Thursday). Our goal is to keep the On-Call schedule limited to one week per month, however, some flexibility may be required in busy seasons and emergency events. We do our best to work with employees on their work/life schedules
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Emergency Management, or a related field highly preferred but not required
- MUST have proven experience in Emergency Response Management, preferably in the oil & chemical industry
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and hazardous materials management
- Excellent leadership and team management skills and ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have valid Driver's License and ability to travel on short notice
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods
- Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs
- Willing to work in various weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments
- Run excavating equipment
